Conductor

A great, musical dream of the singer is then also to work on all Mozart operas with a libretto by Da Ponte “from scratch with a fresh, motivated team of singers as conductor, finding a common language and connecting the voices with the sound of the orchestra.” Even as a child in the choir, he was fascinated by the playing of the orchestra and the role of the conductor, who shaped without making a sound. So it is only logical that Oetterli now increasingly takes on this role himself.

What is important to him is the common path of the orchestra from the first note, the first rehearsal, to the last note of the last performance. It is the constant work of finding the right mix so that everyone in the orchestra can develop their best potential. For him, meaningfulness, inspiration and joy at work go hand in hand with balancing the detail and the big picture toward that one great moment “when I feel a unity forming sonically and atmospherically – a body of sound sounding balanced and breathing together.”
